Lancaster has chosen

To me the 2 biggest omissions from Stuart Lancaster’s squad for the Autumn internationals are Danny Cipriani and Chris Ashton.
Lancaster has chosen Owen Farrell a good player and an outstanding goalkicker but let’s face it we are all waiting for a real spark to light up his game.
Stephen Myler is another choice. What I have always liked about him is he fits into the machine very well.He doesn’t stand out but does his job very well.Is he a world beater? Jim Mallinder must see something in him. At his time at the Saints he has seen off Shane Geraghty and Ryan Lamb to come out the other end the first choice 10. That takes a bit of dogged character. That kind of character wins you cups. Northampton winning the premiership final last season.
George Ford is probably the most exciting choice of 10’s in the squad. Has he been picked as the x-factor fly-half ahead of Danny Cipriani because he is not a naughty boy?
Shock horror Chris Ashton is not in the squad but Semesa Rokoduguni is.I have always liked the way Ashton tracks the ball and often popping up running superb lines off the fly-halfs shoulder. Sorry Ashton you are out and Rokoduguni is in. Now any team that announces they have this big Fijian guy out on the wing people always sit up and take notice.
What does he do well? Born to run with a ball in his hands , he can step , he can run over an opponent, he can hand-off, he picks great lines , he pops up in the right places , he has great acceleration. He does not have quite the bulk of Manu Tuilagi but this guy has wheels. The saying goes ‘speed kills’. This guy is a threat out wide.
So Bath’s positive start to the season has seen quite a few of their players make it in to the squad. Does this mean Eastmond and Joseph are going to start??No I don’t think they will , it would be interesting to play such a positive backline though.
