Any reason not to select George Ford at fly-half?

After his performance against Samoa , many are saying George Ford should start at fly-half for England against Australia this coming Saturday at Twickenham.

England don’t yet look complete but the young George Ford did many good things in his first start at 10 for England. When I asked Kevin Harman, Recruitment and team manager at Wasps, if he thought George Ford had a good game at Flyhalf, Harman answered yes. He said “yes” when I asked him if he thought Ford should start against Australia.

Harman said “Ford is carrying his good Premiership form into the international arena.Ford also carries the ball to the line better than Farrel and is a better passer of the ball and gets the back line going better however Farrel is a better tackler than Ford, so it’ a balancing act.” Harman did point out that “Farrel is in poor form since coming back from injury.”

England looked better but are not quite right yet , I think Harman agrees, he said ” Ford would currently be my choice, though the big reason England’s midfield is not performing is due to Tuilagi being missing, not the form of either 10!”

Kevin Harman ┬ámay have nailed it when he said about Manu Tuilagi being missing but come this weekend the men that get chosen for England have got to get it together or a loss to the Aussies at Twickenham won’t sit well with England fans. England currently have played 3 and lost 2 in the Autumn internationals so far not so good. England need a win as a boost before next years World Cup against their fellow RWC pool rivals.
